Language errors are often based on false analogies.

I, myself, I thought the English word honest had to be written with two times an -n-, because the French word honnête has to -n-'s in it.

I have to admit that even when the English term in derived from the French one through the means of Anglo-Norman, the English word doesn't have the same double consonant...

Historically both the English and the Dutch word derive from the French word, but neither did conserve the -a- spelling... FR tendance EN tendency NL tendens Still have grosso modo the same meaning, but not at all the same spelling...

Judgmental or judgemental

The idea of this social network did come out of the debate of me and a friend about the right spelling of the word judg(e)mental and whether either are the right British spelling for it...

I then mentionned the idea of putting up a site about these language discussions and she said she would join it immediately if I did do so...

So here it is... let's discuss the language problems and topics over here !
